Today we visited Bertram place, a senior home based in Dundas, Ontario. We got to generally chat with a group of seniors and received the regular problems they encounter, such as problems with forks and knives, brushing teeth, reading, and the like.
Seniors value their independence, being able to do things around without relying on others help. A problem with this would be deteriating strength and co-ordination. Let's take grocery shopping. Bought all the groceries, move the groceries to the car. It would be tough to put the bags in the trunk, move the cart back, then move the bags when you get home. Thus, we've decided to make a grocery cart that can automatically put the groceries into any trunk, climb stairs, etc.

We spent the rest of the day examining car trunks for our cart. We've been researching wheels that can climb stairs and curbs, the average dimensions of car trunks, finding out how the groceries would slide in, and the like.
