Saturday morning we had a tour of the FTC and FRC pit areas and playing fields.  It was very interesting, but we struggled!  It was booked for 8am!  It would have been nice for a lie-in, maybe breakfast in bed, etc.  But the die-hards that we are, there we were watching the competitions. Actually it was very interesting, especially since we want to start an FTC, FIRST Tech Challenge, team for next year, this will be for the 14-18 year olds who are growing up from the E-Bots program but still want to be involved in robotics and there is not a program within their high school. As you can see from the attached picture the high school teams are a little more creative in their costumes and hair!  YES that is her hair!

We had a fabulous lunch at the Olde Spaghetti Factory, all together, we actually had everyone in one place together!  Nanny & Grandpa, the token grandparents along on the trip (Mike's) bought all the adults champagne and the kids special drinks!  Then the families paid for our meal which was very nice of them!  Remember that we had all ready been announced as the Champions?  Well there was another team in the restaurant, the MRI's who came over, all of them clapping for the team!  It was really cool to see the smiling faces of all the kids on both teams, they all knew the work involved in achieving 1st place.  This team has an awesome group of boys who put on a super performance at the ice cream social, and guessing becuase they were so good, they were also asked to perform at the closing awards ceremony.  Their youtube video of their performance can be see here

At the end of their performance the Australian team comes up to join in, very well done.  All the teams who performed did a great job, it will be something we will have to try and do when we go back to world festival, hahaha did you catch that?  This win has made some hungry kids, even more hungry for next year, what will it bring?  who knows.....
